Serene Scene

Winter is having it out with Spring today..but... it is serenely and silently beautiful...
My "boys" are home and safe and I am enjoying a day of moving a bit more slowly.

Stitching the border on Early Spring. I'm really enjoying making these small back stitches with blended threads of embroidery floss (two thread colors in the needle). I bought the variegated thread from Artistic Artifacts (I drool over all the hand-dyed threads that Judy Gula offers there!). It's called Frida and is part of the Painter's Threads line by Tentakulum.

I'm longing for an early Spring...but Winter is having none of that!...at least for today!

    1. Yes...definitely over it! Yesterday, Aaron asked Mark why we didn't have a snow blower...Mark replied...I thought I was moving to a place where I wouldn't need one...Of course we moved here almost 30 years ago and we've had plenty of snow storms!

  2. I like this embroidery floss...gives an unexpected movement of color. Sometimes I add a silver or gold thread to two threads of the same color but this is so much easier to just buy...I get so excited about new products!! Enjoy stitching!

  3. Winter your side of the Atlantic has been amazingly tenacious this year. Spring has sprung here with daffodils out and birds nesting. I hope your comes soon.
Those threads are a delight - the soft variegation is lovely. I don't think we have the Painters' Threads range over here.

    1. HI Margaret- Finally, today was sunny and warm...yay...maybe spring is finally here! The Painter's Threads are really beautiful (floss) and there are other lines by the same company in silk and flower cotton etc.
