Searching for Roy G Biv III: Blogger's Choice Update #5

I love farmers' markets...especially discovering them during travels. There's something about the sensuous shapes and sumptuous colors of fruits and vegetables brought to market. So for my Roy G Biv Blogger's Choice I decided to go for a color cornucopia!

And the flowers:

What is your Blogger's Choice this month? Post up to five photos of your Blogger's Choice color (or colors) and leave a comment here or at Jennifer Coyne Qudeen's blog. We will link to your blog post for another colorful blog hop! I'll be posting updates until Saturday midnight Eastern USA time.

Jennifer's choice...Rust, of course! She found it in every nook and cranny.

Mary Ann at Blue Sky Dreaming offers a wonderful selection of her favorite mixed-media pieces.

Sharmon Davidson has gorgeous grays. I love the weathered wood, clouds and snowscape!

Margaret of Charlton Stitcher has a rich selection of colors from the second half of 2014. Love the terracotta and the black and white!

Eric of Cerulean posted some of his favorites...I love the subtle color palettes.

Maya of Million Little Stitches gives us a taste of gold and some insight into Indians love of gold. I love the ornate temples.

Roy Reminder Brought to You by the Vienna Farmers' Market

A selection of colorful peppers.

It's a gorgeous Saturday...not a typical northern Virginia day in August. I decided to take a walk to the local farmers' market with my camera looking for some PINK for next Thursday's Search for Roy.

Now, I know that you are thinking...it's not ROY G BIVP but Jennifer Coyne Qudeen and I decided, Why stop with violet?!

Well, not much PINK (and I'm saving it for Thursday) but lots of amazing color. I couldn't resist taking some photos as well as purchasing and lugging some fruits and veggies home to enjoy.

The "Roy" of Roy G Biv.
Mini eggplants!! I had to buy some of these!
I love the shapes and colors of heirloom tomatoes.

Hope you'll join Jennifer and me this coming Thursday, August 21 on our search for PINK. Post up to five PINK photos and leave a comment here or on Jennifer's blog so we can link back to your blog for a colorful blog hop!

Searching for Roy G Biv III: Indigo Update #3

INDIGO---the most elusive of colors. I was back to the photo archives for this month's Search for Roy G Biv (the colors of the rainbow).

The Search led me back to some past posts...

I got to drool over beads from The Bead Goes On.

I remembered a walk down to the local Vienna, VA farmers' market last summer.

I was reminded of my industrious December 2012 when I  Furoshiki-wrapped gifts for all my family and friends.

And healing a pair of jeans that led me on the path to my Healing Cloth class.

I guess INDIGO wasn't as elusive as I thought!

If you'd like to play along in the Search for INDIGO this month just post up to five photos on your blog between today and Saturday and leave a comment here or on Jennifer Coyne Qudeen's blog. We will link to your post. I'll be updating as I receive comments. Have fun!

Jennifer is intrigued by INDIGO. Love Ellie and Grace's Roy G Biv!
Fiona at Paper Ponderings has a lovely INDIGO cyanotype and is pondering dichotomies.
Maya at Million Little Stitches discovered some INDIGO tiles and Google doodles for the World Cup.
Susan at Flying Dog Studio has some neighborhood INDIGO (Pogo's soooo cute!).
Jill at Recycled Daze has some local (and artistic) INDIGO.
Yarngoddess is mixing up some INDIGO over on her blog!
Mary Ann at Blue Sky Dreaming has some artistic INDIGOS.

Margaret at Charlton Stitcher has some architectural INDIGOS.

I'm off to Virginia Beach to see my friend Laura for a long Solstice weekend. I look forward to seeing more INDIGO treasures when I return!

A late entry from Lisa at arzigogolare...a bit of INDIGO from Florence and the U.S. west coast.

Here are future Roy G Biv dates and colors:
July 17: Violet
August 21: Pink
September 18: Black
October 16: White
November 20: Brown
December 18: Blogger's Choice

Elusive Indigo: Roy Reminder Update

A Roy G Biv array of tomatoes.

Just a reminder that this Thursday, July 18, the Search for Roy G Biv (the colors of the rainbow) continues with the ever elusive INDIGO.

I find this to be the toughest color for me...Google it and you tend to see the various blues of the natural dye or a psychedelic violet! So...I leave it up to you to interpret.

Yesterday, I took off for a walk to my local farmers' market. I've lived in my town for 20 years and have never ventured to the farmers' market before. This is the first year that it is in walking distance and on my regular walking route. I took my camera along to see if I could find some of that elusive color.

Of course, I'm saving those photos for Thursday, but here are some photos of the local bounty.

Hope you will join Jennifer and me on Thursday...and let your friends know about this monthly blog hop. If you are new to the Search, click here for more information.

Update: For those of you having a difficult time searching for indigo...a project using your interpretation of the color is most welcome. Ersi is thinking about doing that this time round. Lisa did an amazing investigation of indigo for Roy I. Click here to see it.

Just realized this is my 333th post...wooohooo!
