Day 4: Happy Smiles and Swirls

Last night, I received an unexpected package.

After a long day at work, this was my happy surprise!

The beautiful polymer bead necklace my nieces and nephew made for me!

Your Ant July thanks you very much for putting a big smile on her face!

This morning, I took a walk to get me inspired to start working on the Furoshiki cloth designs.

I seem attracted to swirls today.

La Primavera

It's finally official--the first day of spring. This is a piece I named Primavera. Her fabrics are all hand printed (my original designs) and her face is an inlaid polymer clay technique that I devised.

Enjoy your equinox.

Off to Visit Floris

A little still life of my polymer faces with recent purchases from Star's Beads Ltd.

I'm off to visit with quilt artist, Floris Flam in her studio. She is going to be taking my Arresting Resists class in April. She was one of the students in the Playing in the Kitchen with Julie Booth workshop that I gave through the Potomac Fiber Arts Guild. She is a marvelous artist and I will be taking some photos of my visit.

Floris is going to show me how to make thickened dyes and we are going to see how they work with some of the resist recipes I've been working with this past year...stay tuned!
