New Fabrics and Roy Reminder

I've been spending a lot of time the past couple of weeks creating new fabric designs. Some fabrics have been for my new project, Crossroads. This week I focused on getting some fabrics ready to sell at my cooperative gallery, Potomac Fiber Arts Gallery. I've been having a lot of fun working with blues, aquas, and purples and using my Confectioner's sugar resist recipe.

I took my camera out to get some different views.

This is also an opportunity to remind you that this Thursday, June 20, is the next installment of the Searching for Roy G Biv Challenge (the colors of the rainbow). BLUE is the color of the month...which seems fitting as I've been creating a lot of blue fabrics! If you're not familiar with the Challenge, click here for more information. Hope you can join in this month!

    2. Oh yes...not wanting to seem ungracious...Thanks so much for your lovely comments about the fabrics. I've been having a great time this month just exploring color layering with resist and keeping within a certain palette.

    1. Hmm...I've only just been testing the waters with selling my fabrics in my gallery. I've certainly thought about getting a bit more serious about it (ever since I designed some yardage for a different gallery a couple of years ago)...what do you think? BTW you should be receiving your packet of fabrics from the newsletter anniversary challenge any day now.

    2. As you'll see from my comment on your post from yesterday, I received the lovely fabrics this morning - I'm delighted with them.
As to selling more widely, gosh, I can't really advise, having never done it myself. All I can say is that, seen here on your blog they look most inviting. Perhaps trying to sell via a dedicated blog is a way forward ...?
I will watch to see what happens....!

    3. Thanks Margaret. I've been toying with the idea of a shop. I feel pulled in many directions and have to contemplate it a bit more. Glad the fabric arrived!

    1. Thanks, Monica. It was fun making them and then deciding which pieces to put together in the fabric packets (though I love seeing them all together). Your work is quite beautiful!
