First Five

Here are the first five squares for Crossroads.

During the meeting with my exhibiting group, F.I.N.E. (Fiber in Nearly Everything), I got some useful feedback and some possible new directions in which to take this piece.

There are many more squares to make.

Before I left Savannah, I laid out the large printed squares from the family printing project. I'll be painting/printing some fabric for borders around these and for the backing fabric.

It's going to be a busy summer!

  1. I like the Crossroads squares, very textural. The painted squares are going to make a very individual and personal piece.

    1. Thanks, Maggi. I have hundreds of them cut out...lots of hand stitching to come. Fortunately, I enjoy hand stitching and the portability of the pieces. Gotta get moving though...have a show at the end of Nov!

  2. I love the Crossroads colors, but the idea of a family art project is fabulous! Can't wait to see how it comes together.

    1. I can't wait to put the family piece together. I just ordered another bolt of white pfd fabric...lots of painting and printing needed for background fabrics.
