There were wild things happening at
Fiber Camp today! This was the first of two sessions I'll be teaching for
The Art League School this summer.

Campers made chenille stem (pipe cleaner) animal skeletons and stuffed them with cotton batting.

They then wrapped their animals in gauze.

And finally wrapped them with colorful fabric strips and yarn.

Glass beads or googly eyes were the finishing touch.

Great results. My favourites are the blue cat and the Alicorn.
ReplyDeleteAren't they fun! Once the eyes are glued in place, it's amazing to see how the children begin to interact with their creations.
DeleteHow charming these are! I especially like the giraffes and the slightly anarchic rainbow dog on a leash - though it's really very hard to choose a favourite.
