This month's Search once again goes beyond the rainbow to BLACK.
I decided to challenge myself on a walk last weekend. With my camera in hand, I sought out BLACK.
BLACK turned up in unusual places....often hidden-in-plain-sight places...
Some BLACK seemed to subtly turn into other colors...
Other BLACKS reminded me of fabric...
This BLACK was strangely hidden in the crook of a tree branch!
Where did you find BLACK this month?
Post up to five BLACK photos by Saturday, September 20 (midnight Eastern USA time) and leave a comment here or on Jennifer Coyne Qudeen's blog. (Jennifer will be posting starting on Friday...busy woman!) We'll link to your post and update as new comments come in. It's always fun to see what inspires others...hope you'll join in!
Maya at Million Little Stitches has BLACK with some local flavor! Also some beautiful stitched details from two of her scarves.
Yarngoddess, Diane, discovered BLACKS all around her home and yard...especially love that furry one!
Sharmon at True Adventures of An Art Addict found an eclectic array of arty BLACKS.
Lisa at arzigogolare has found rich Florentine BLACKS.
Mary Ann at Blue Sky Dreaming has some "Throwback" BLACKS.
Yippee! Jennifer posted her abundant archival BLACKS!!
Jill at Recycled Daze has photo shoot BLACKS, space mouse BLACK and even a BLACK mustache!
Barbara at Salt Air and Pistachios has some fireplace BLACK!
Joan S. is joining in this month (Yay, Joan!) Here is the BLACK bear she observed in South Dakota this summer (and yes she was in her car!).

Julie, I like that you found your blacks in such unusual places, with such a cool variety of textures! I have also posted my blacks!
ReplyDeleteHi Sharmon- I enjoyed looking at the work of all those artists...what an amazing variety!
DeleteI love all of your patterns & textures, Julie! I think your second-to-last photo is my favorite...and I'm also intrigued by how perfectly that fence shadow "falls" on the sidewalk.
ReplyDeleteI didn't expect searching for "black" to be as exciting as some of the other colors - but it has been!
Hi Lisa- I was surprised to find that black is really all around when you stop to look. It was such a bright, September morning when I took those shots...many of the blacks look more like grays! I was intrigued to find black "fabrics" on my walk.
DeleteHi Diane- You sure did have lots of black around (literally) your home. Hope you're enjoying your new furry friend!
ReplyDeleteGreat 'black' finds! I went with scattered photos within one but still plenty of black. This has been fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing along, Mary Ann. Poetry and pinhole photos sounds like a lovely combination!
DeleteI'm new to Searching for Roy G. Biv, but I posted an entry at saltairandpistachios.com
ReplyDeleteFun idea. I'm enjoying seeing all the ideas that have been submitted.
Hi Barbara-So glad that you decided to join in this month! Hope you'll continue with the Search for the remainder of the year.
DeleteYes. Looking forward to it.
DeleteYour top photo is my favorite.
