Hand Stitching: Layers

Peggy G.

Class #4 of my Hand Stitching class focused on Layers. Students combined stitching with applique techniques to build up their stitched pieces. Hope you enjoy viewing the rich details and use of different fabrics and textures to create these pieces all within 4" squares!

Lee W. The light gray circle is all hand stitched...I thought it was printed fabric!

I just noticed that Peggy, Lee and Judy all have pieces with a similar format. This is fascinating to me because these are all pieces that they stitched at home, between class sessions!

  1. I am envious of your 'class' work and even more envious they got to take a class from you!!! Just wonderful work...you should be proud...you must be a great instructor to have students produce results like this!

    1. Hi Robbie-You're so sweet! I've had the concept for this class rolling around in my head for almost a year. I was so fortunate to have a class of eager and engaged students who really committed to the class and to each other. I'd love to teach a variation of this as a two-day workshop...hoping some opportunities pop up!
