Pockets

This week I've been playing with some recycled paper products for one of the chapters in my upcoming book, Fabric Printing at Home.

I kept happening upon words while cutting, twisting, rolling and gluing pages from the L.L. Bean catalog. Words such as, warmth and quilted. It reminds me of the poetry magnets I used to have on the refrigerator. Can you see  pockets in this photo? Kind of interesting since all the folds remind me of pockets!

I test printed some of the blocks today. I still need to cut some stencils and then it's on to some final fabrics for this part of the chapter. So much to do. My new sankalpa is, stay calm and focused.

  1. I see rolls and cuffs, layers and glimpses of enticing colour .. and yes, though I wouldn't have thought of it, pockets in the top row ... perhaps offering comfort and a possible retreat?

    1. I'm imagining slipping into one of those open pockets in the top row....would it be cozy or a chasm?

    2. I think cosy - too small and comforting to be a chasm.

  2. Pockets? Yes...and just what treasures do they hold?

    1. ooo the possibilities! I'll have to mine some! Having fun with the recyclables...think there will be some great fabric samples from these.
